Eligibility Criteria for OBC Scholarship Scheme 2024
Applicant can submit their application under The OBC Scholarship Scheme 2024 into two distinct categories: Pre-Matric and Post-Matric. Also Each category has different eligibility requirements, which are given below.
Pre-Matric Scholarship: In this category is for students who are currently studying in Class 10 or below. Therefore, students from Class 1 to Class 10 should apply for the Pre-Matric Scholarship.
Post-Matric Scholarship: In this category Students in Class 11 and above must apply. This includes those pursuing Higher Secondary, Graduation, Post-Graduation, and other higher education programs.
Annual Family Income: In this OBC scholarship scheme, the candidate’s annual family income must be less than ₹2.50 Lakh.
Note: A valid OBC Caste certificate is mandatory for this scholarship scheme. Student’s who don’t have a valid OBC Caste certificate are not eligible for this OBC Scholarship scheme. Without a valid caste certificate, the application will be rejected.

How to Apply in OBC Scholarship Scheme 2024 ?
Starting from the academic session 2024-25, the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has rolled out a new One-Time Registration (OTR) process for students. This means that the way to submit online applications for the OBC Scholarship has changed to two key phases.In the first phase, students need to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). Once they’ve finished this step, Students will receive a OTR ID. This ID is essential for the next phase, where students will use it for further process of the OBC Scholarship application.
One-Time Registration (OTR)
During the first phase, it’s important for students to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the NSP portal. Once successfully registered, students will get an OTR ID, which will allow them to proceed further In the OBC Scholarship application. It’s important to remember that each student will have their own unique OTR ID, generated just for them.

Students applying for OTR must have a valid mobile number.
Aadhaar Requirement: To complete the One-Time Registration (OTR), having an Aadhaar is Mendatory. If a student has not yet received their Aadhaar, they can use their Enrollment ID (EID) in its place during the registration process. In the case of minor students without an assigned Aadhaar, registration can be done using the Aadhaar of a parent or legal guardian.
eKYC: Completing the eKYC process is a necessary step for securing NSP OTR. Students can download the NSP OTR app, which is readily available on the Google Play Store, to carry out their face authentication required for eKYC.

Selection Process for the OBC Scholarship
All the Eligible OBC category candidates will receive scholarships in accordance with the eligibility criteria. Candidates who are from one state but are studying in another will have their scholarships awarded by their home state. It is essential for these candidates to submit their applications to the appropriate authorities in their home state. For the purposes of fee exemptions or any other concessions, they will be considered as if they are studying within their own state.
